Oh and the storm-scope that tells you where the lightening strikes are goes mental and displays that there are strikes everywhere.

The lightening needs to hit the ground to transfer all the electricity through doesn't it?


There were problems with composite aircraft that meant that they would explode if they were hit by lightening while flying along. Of course that doesn't happen any more because of different layup methods are used now during manufacture on most composite aircraft.

Lightening hit a big tree opposite my flat yesterday. Thought it was explosion at first as was so loud. Split the tree in half

No and no. We didn't get hit, we were just in really really shite weather and saw the flash of it happening.

So...holding an umbrella (i would assume above his head), he saw the lightning (coming from the sky, and which travels though the air at 3x10^8m/s) heading towards him.

...hmmm...

Ha, there was only 2 lighting strikes during the show that we saw, so times maybe close. Does seem a little skeptical though

lightning struck in our back yard while my dad and brother wer out there, they said it was a big flash and bang that left them deaf and blind for a good few seconds and it cracked one of the paving slabs, glad I want there
