Right it went ok, better than I thought, no real digging by anyone for more information, lots of praising...generally seemed good. And finished and no one had any questions so finished early

Awesome. Well CS is an owner's club so you're ok on here You could do what half of the people that work here do and go on Facegay on your phone when you get bored The lad next to me spends more time texting/Facegaying on his phone than he does working
Oh yeah, and one time I went next door to pick something up off the big printer, and one of the guys started looking at tractors on the internet

Been a contractor for 14 months, job came up for offer, I have to apply for it, on less money but full holiday and sick benefit so not too bad I guess.

So you have to apply for your own job on less money because they're advertising for it? Or have I gotten mixed up somewhere

This, unfortunately
I took around a 50% pay cut to move from contracting to my current job but it's permanent, I don't have to worry about where my money's coming from and I'm working my way back up to what I was on before

I see Sounds a bit backwards to me, but there you go.
So does that mean you have to re-interview for your own job, and tell them all about the fact that you already work there and they should keep you because you know where everything is?

Pretty much Dave, I have a massive form with an essay on, they wanted 3 a4 pages of why i would be a suitable applicant for the job.
My draft was "Because I have done this job for 14 months without a single serious fault and 100% uptime for every site"
I then rethought
I really want out of contracting, but at the same time I don't
Might just find out if I can move somewhere else instead

I'm starting to think I need a new job. Seems like it's becoming a bit of a sinking ship and I'm having trouble getting motivated to do much
