Where do you position the straps? try moving your feet a little and see if it makes a difference.

Ok positioned the straps and did them up proper tight and went for it... I got 8:38.6minutes and am now TOP OF THE LEADERBOARD! I have another chance to try and beat it on Thursday when go to the gym, so we shall see.

Well done! Now you have another goal to beat.

Did the foot straps come loose?

LOL no they most certainly did not! In fact I struggled to undo them when I wanted to get out! I'm thinking I must have been putting the strap up too high (nearer the top of my foot) so as long as it stays across the middle of my foot I should be ok. Got to beat my own goal now. I'm not competative really...

I find putting it across my laces helps!

Mines across the end of my laces, near the toe I think. i know its the max as I'm size 11.

My goal was to get under 12mins for 3k and on the last 2 trips to the gym I did an 11:59 and and 11:55. I have to beat my own time too!! I'm tempted to put the distance up instead though...

That's the thing though isn't it! I'm not competative really- it wasn't about beating the other lady and being top of the leaderboard it was about beating my own time. After I do it tonight I'm going to try 3000m and see how I get on. That's a brilliant time you got there btw mate for 3000m. I'm loving the site Laney posted for seeing what sort of times to aim for as well
