Of course it doesnt have as much grunt to the sound at high revs but im sure its pulling better.

I was informed that induction kits only work for a small number of cars anyway.

GET EM OFF LADS/LASSES

this is because of the pressure difference generated by the airbox. at high revs the cone filter is less retrictive

wouldn't it be as much risk as having an induction kit?

I suppose it all boils down to the fact that Kev and his mates claim huge BHP increases when a K&N goes in.

Fact: new Exhaust and Filter will probably decrease power unless you get the ECU changed to allow for the mods.

Tales of huge power gains as opposed to tales of light wallets tend to get spouted a bit too much so everyone takes it as gospel.

Obviously a well worked system of mods can produce power gains but in the majority of kevved up systems it doesnt.

I'd feel confident that my 1.6 corsa is faster as standard than 95% of self modded 1.6 corsa's and 100% faster than any corsa with an NA engine < 1.6 in size.

I dont think so as the ind kit will spread the suction over a larger area. The air travelling into your airbox through a modified hole would prob have a greater velocity than air into the ind kit.

I could be wrong tho.

Steve> If I were u Id get a new airbox from a scrappies (£10 max) and a filter for £25, then drill it. If you dont like it then just put it back the way it was.

I didnt buy a replacement box so when I sold me car if had nasty black tape over the holes. Looked crap.

I've just ordered my panel filter now, and will be drilling holes soon.Ive always thought those induction kits sucked in the heat from the engines which must be crap for the performance.
