cheers for the comments!
Today I stonechipped the underneath of the gsi, no pics of the stonechip as I forgot. Then I painted it in hammered black Hammerite, should be ok for a few years.
Crap pics of it finished.
Then I put the turbo back on the engine while the paint was drying.
New studs and gasket.
Turbo fitted with new nuts. Actuator needs replacing.

Not been doing much to my gsi over winter/christmas time so I thought I'd put up some pics of some work I did for a friend last weekend.
My mate picked up a catback exhaust and front mount intercooler kit for his mk3 ibiza cupra for the bargain price of £130 for the lot! So I set about fitting them for him last sunday.
First off I fitted the exhaust. Full 2.5 inch cat-back with 1 rear silencer.
Then at 3pm we decided to have a go at the front mount.
Bumper off,
Front mount bolted on and piped up,
Then refitted the bumper after attacking it with a saw.
And one more pic with my project gsi in shot.
More updates on my LET conversion coming soon

Finally an update! done a bit more work on the engine and box today.
first off I cleaned the icv inside and out. looking like new now
Then I fitted the freshly painted Inlet, throttle body, tophat and icv all with new gaskets where required of course. I then fitted a few red roose hoses I picked up cheap and also a brand new mk3 astra water bar as recommended by roose when using their hoses.
I was going to buy a new clutch before fitting the engine but upon checking the one already fitted I found it was still in good condition and didn't really need changing.
Onto the f28. I'd already fitted a 2wd conversion plate and had the 3 holes drilled and tapped ready. Had given it a good coating of silver hammerite too.
Then I bolted to box the the engine, went on pretty easy considering I bolted it on by myself . you don't realise how heavy a f28 box is until you have to maul it about.
anyway pics of how the engine/box stand now.
Oh and I mock fitted my radiator and eds front mount cooler and fitted the bumper to check clearance.
Sneak preview of how i want the front mount to sit
thanks to danny90 for giving me a hand as always, more updates soon.

The EDS intercooler I'm using
Had to cut the crash bar and these 3 lugs off the bumper
Fitted my front bumper properly with all fixing bolts to check for clearance as I want the front mount hidden away so its more stealthy rather than in your face.
Bumper and cooler all bolted up solid. Should get a rad and fan and oil cooler in there, just lol

Smoke grey paint
Then the lacquer
Ive replaced the front brake lines, steering rods and rod ends and gave it another coat of hammerite too since the last update. ive also decided I want to keep the power steering so my brand new manual rack is up for sale and power rack refitted.
New brake lines
New steering tie bars. only one pictured.
All fitted up and painted. looking nice and clean.
A pic of some goodies off connollygt30. top man, cheers mate

Not done much on the turbo just waiting for parts to arrive but I should at least have the engine sat in the bay in a weeks time.
Today I just had a little tidy up ready to drop the let in the gsi then I decided to fit a bigger 2.5 inch bore scorpion exhaust to my xe corsa as I'd always felt the 2 inch system fitted was holding it back performance wise.
Pics to show the huge size difference.
Seemed to run better, but can't take it out yet as its been off the road since july so has no tax or test or anything.
Pic of my 2 corsa's together.
And a pic of my c20xe corsa's engine bay which I built about 3-4 years ago.
Hopefully have more interesting updates on my let soon

I'm just waiting on a new gm water pump to arrive on wednesday then I can do the timing and get the engine bolted in but until then I've done a few more little things to the car.
First up pictures of some goodies
New mounts
10 inch slim fan and fitting kit
New GSI rad
New roose crankcase breather hose (cheers Generation :thumbs
I decided make my rubber engine mounts a bit stiffer cheapo style by cutting up an old exhaust mount and using the pieces to fill the gaps along with some tigerseal, not sure how long it will last but they seem ok and feel pretty solid.
Exhaust hanger chopped up
Front engine mount
Front gearbox mount
Rear gearbox mount
Then I fitted the mount to the block, gearbox and chassis.
Then I found a bit of silicone vacuum hose in the garage so did this.
That is all, for now.

Done some more work on the corsa this week
First off I removed the cobra alarm that was fitted to the gsi when I got it. The wiring for it was a right mess and it was doing my head in plus I'm planning on having a clifford fitted when its on the road anyways.
With some help from my mate Dan (danny90 on here) this happened.
My water pump had arrived so got onto changing the timing belt on the let.
Old belt.
Changed cam seals while belt was off.
Swapped water pump for new gm item.
New genuine gm timing kit fitted and engine timed up.
Then with the help of Dan again I decided to put the engine in the car.
Car lifted right up in the air so we could slide the engine underneath.
Then this is how it was left thursday night at 10:30pm.
And finally, today I got all the engine mount bolts in tight. Well happy with how it sits although I need to change my alternator set-up to single v as the pulley is too close for my liking.
