I love the way they look, not cheap to insure for me though, and not as big as they look (smaller than my frontera) and not that much room in the drivers seat but im 6 foot 4 so most cars are a bit cramped

No offence but they are a bit pants and very old
But if i was going to buy a big ol' comfy 4x4 i would probably buy one of these, it's a little bit more expensve but it's newer and probably better in every way: >>Crap Old Range Rover<<Clicky
Either that or buy a Warrior

Well i found this which is roughly the same age as your Jeep:96RangeRover
Cheaper than the Jeep you posted too looks in decent nick for its age etc, Still it is a risk buying such an old car, Can your trust an old £1K car?

RR's are about 100x better than Jeep Cherokee's
I loved my old 94 one (guzzler V8) and current 06 RRS isnt bad

Them range rover have a LOT of problems and all very expensive to fix, I know a couple of people with them and they both bought them cheap because the had major problems.
But I do like them, haven't driven one though.

Not saying i would buy it, just that it's a better option than the Cherokee? No

What has price got to do with it? the rangerover is just as old as the cherokee and on a lot of miles too, Our cherokee is still excellent with over 150,000 on, and grand cherokees are even better.

the closest thing i have had to a 4x4 is a diahatsu sportrak. it was an absolute beaut of a 4x4 bought it for pissin about in the field but it had tax and MOT so drove it round the country side driving into random fields and driving it up big hills was very capable when in 4wd low range. could also switch to RWD for sideways action.
