Beardy, would u do 2.0 litre 8v or 1.8 16v? and how much would they cost?
Would u need the exhaust, brakes etc and are you still going to be doing this in a year or two's time?

year or two's time - god knows?
all about cost m8
2lt 8v are cheaper to pick up then a 1.8 16v, and i think 1.8 16v are new engine so loads of electics, so a REAL pain in the arse

defo, just look at the fastest corsa and Novas, there always 2lt's in TB never turbos, TB are more controled power where turbos are all spin
i have seen 2lt 16vs on Tb do 0-60 in under 5.5's (even 4.9 luckyB old one of here) i have never seen a turbo come close to that

all the same m8, but for everday use SBD are no good really, as no cold start
SBD are really for rally car where u dont need cold starts, the other have them they just block the TB off till the car engine is warm.....

The lack of cold start is not really a problem. Most ECUs will allow you to rich up the fuel/air mix at low temps. Even in the middle of winter (at -12 degrees), my TB'd engine starts first time every time. All you need to do is to blip the throttle a few times for a minute or so before driving off.
