R26 is still a possibility though
Just get someone who works for a windscreen company to swap them for a score, and the cage is just bolt in isn't it? Granted it's more work but I just thought for a saving of a few grand it might be worth thinking about

would much rather pay the extra tax and mot and have something like normal people have, i.e: the escort (sometimes its nice to blend into the background)
Please
Its called using the car
and what performance parts are we talking about

I think once you drive a decent car you'll forget all about your rusty Puma.

Are you really going to notice the difference though for all that extra money? It's not going to be like the difference you'd get between a 1.6 Astra and the VXR version.

oh yes no doubt it will be forgotten about in terms of maintaining it and cleaning it, powdercoating arms etc etc but it will still get used a lot as the workhorse

fuel is ok, about 35-40mpg
doesnt need much doing to it, anything i do do it myself, most of the wearable parts are/will be uprated by the time this new car comes around.
wash it every week/fortnight

well you maintain your puma to a very high standard while using it for work
I just dont see how getting a R26R would make you need a second car
Just my opinion

ah, well i already have the puma so i wouldn tneed to buy anything, so no cost there, the only cost will be the extra mot and tax and fuel.
At the moment i would run two cars but i cant afford it, if you saw what i did for a job then youd see, its not a case of driving to the office and back everyday, have to drive about the county carting equipment about, picking up servers etc, megane wont really be pratical for carry stuff about
ideally we would be given vans but that never happens and we have to use our own cars

Putting mileage on a new car will probably cost you more when it comes to resale value.
£140 brake pads
Tyres that are £100 each instead of £100 for all 4
25mpg if you're lucky instead of 40mpg
Plus there's the fact you just lose the enjoyment of driving it if you drive it everyday

How about selling the Puma and buying a little van like a Berlingo Steve? I know of one that could be sold to you

this is what i would do
then you have a vehicle fit for purpose if your job involves carting stuff around
