Broken my wrist snowboarding.
You are better off breaking your ankle than doing ligament damage from a bad sprain.

My mate did the same not long back, as soon as he found out I'd done my ankle in he got his physio to contact me and make sure I hadn't done anything to my ligament. Thank God I didn't.

I sprained my ankle really badly playing volleyball. I was living out in Canada at the time and got really good physio. Had to wear a strap up support on it for a couple of years after whenever I played any sports as they can sprain easily again. Would have been far better off breaking it. The swelling and bruising was quite entertaining.

Well this kills so I can't imagine your pain.

Fucking
Just been on phone to physio again, he thinks it's an avulsion fracture so it could very well be ligament damage as well. FML

I broke my nose, or rather someone else did during a scuffle after a scrum playing rugby when I was younger, I got him back 4 tackles later though, nearly ripped his fucking ankle off "strectcher please!"
my dad had broke his ankle in 2 places on 2 occasions, first time he broke the tibia and fibia in the middle which resulted in a plate and 4 pins
the 2nd time he broke both tibia and fibia but really low down looked like he broke his foot at first, this one was a terrible break hich resulted in 2 more plates 6 pins and a titanuim rod down the inside of his shin bone
it must be impossible to break it again
