Alot of money for a Golf, but I suppose it's just VW's version of the Focus RS. I really like the interiors, I sat in one the other day aswell as the Scirocco and you can really sense the VW quality.

Agreed, they are alot of money, but I do get a bit of discount, which makes it more bearable.

I am still mulling it over, as I totally agree it is alot of money.

But with number sold, and added to the fact that I don't think they will loose a significant amount of money in the first 12/24mths, means I need to make a decision, as it wont be possible in the next couple of years, due to other commitments.

My old MK3 GTi, and my current Mk4 GTi Turbo are so well screwed together. All over that.

3cm - giving it some serious consideration at the moment.

As strange as it is though - I would really miss the Mk4.

S3 - Nope not for me.
The R is similar money and more powerful, althought the S3 would hold value better.

The R's are not that bad now - and holding value, alot are in hands of enthusiasts and the prices are creeping up again - i have been keeping a sneaky eye on it for a while.

Looked at the E30's as well, but they are still are alot of cash over the stock GTi.

"White cars going out of fashion?"

FFS what is this with fashion and a colour of a car, you buy it because you like it, it was never in or out of fashion.

Do you think in 1989 when Kev bought his brand new XR2i in white he thought "shit better not buy it in white it might go out of fashion"

What a load of shit honestly, get a grip of reality.

Nice car BTW, just too expensive.

Yeah I would get an S3 if it were me as prefer them plus the fact they are better equipped for the money. e.g. you get leather as standard!

Golf R is a nice car though

I bet they are the same power, its the same engine. They just try to distinguish them by quoting slightly different power. Like they do with the Polo GTI and the Audi A1 that both use the same engine!

White VW's just makes them look cheap to me, unless its an old mk2 gti big bumper edition.

they really need metallic or pearlescent paint to fit in with the whole classy feel to them. They aren't racing cars

So much money So many other things...

If your happy Teddy then thats all that matters, do they not do the green colour forthe golf? If not the white does look pretty menacing. But if the blue is special id get the blue.

If you txt me i didn't get it mate, probably txt the wrong numbe,r ill u2u you my new one!

I dsiagree

VAG have one of the nicest whites iMO in IBIS white

I like the Candy white of the golf and I also like IBIS white from Audi and Alpine white from BMW although there are 2 versions of Alpine white and one of them isnt that nice

Exactly - the Golf is a better all rounder.
I did drive the GTi too, which is impressive and can be mapped easily, however I am keen on the 4 motion, the car drove totally differently, much more confidence than spag wheel drive.

Still looking at the figures.

I agree with the comments, yes its very expensive, but not alot I can do about that really, but it WILL last! and comes with 20k service intervals.
It does have alot going for it, but I am taking my time and still thinking about it.

I cant help but feel if I were to buy a GTi - yes I would save shed loads of cash, but after driving both, its a difficult choice, and I am struggling to justify the extra cash (I dare not say how much!) but then I think about the drives and more importantly, what I want the car for!

it still is the cheapest colour as its free from most manufacturuers

Again mate your showing you stuck in time

Colour trends change and at the end of the day your not going to own a car for the rest of your life so why not buy a colour thats currently popular or look good
