Ridiculous. I done too many in the first 6 months of buying ours.
Although since Oct last year its only done 7k and 2k of that is two trips to Nurburgring so averaging 5k a year now.
Next year is where the mileage will be massively below average when it reaches 3 years old and only done 26k

How much is it on now? I've done 6k in 14 months, but will hardly use it over winter.

I wouldn't call just over 1000 miles a year 'massively' below average.

Are you taking the piss? I do 5k a year in it, I'm saying year on year from next year it will go down and down on the average side of things.
It just turned over to 25k.

High mileage doesn't matter according to CS, won't make any difference to it's value or anything in general.

Not that I want to sell it, I just don't like racking up the mileage going to and from McDonalds or work which neither I do and haven't done for over a year.

If you do 5k a year it would be on 15k not 26k after 3 years. 26k is not 'massively below average IMO, its about 1300 miles a year below average.

DO YOU READ? When I first got it I done too many miles in it back and forward to work.
Since OCTOBER 2009 it has done 5k road miles and 2k worth of round trips to Nurburgring.
Continue in that vain and it won't exceed 40k for another 3 years when it should be on around 68k

A Vauxhall dealership told me UK average has now gone up and 15k is what they work on. 10k is a dream for people using their car on a daily basis.

Shall we take this to another thread Im not trying to cause an arguement. I simply read,
'the mileage will be massively below average when it reaches 3 years old and only done 26k'
And disagreed.

It's probably more than that then because everyone does 5k for insurance purposes.
Think I'm lucky to do 10k a year and I use my car every day.

That 12k includes the 1000's of company/fleet cars that go round the world and back. For a private car, anymore than 10k a year IMO is above average.

right, one more time
the uk average milage as percived by insurance companies and brokers, is considered to be 12k per annum
this in turn has be adopted by many manufacturers, and also why you see company cars leased for a periode of 3 years or 36000 miles to ensure they stay around the uk average yearly milage, enabling reasale to private owners

Average Joe works 15 miles from home going to work everyday will set him back 10950 miles
Joe goes to Tescos once a week, he lives 5 miles from tescos = 520 miles
Joe goes to the gym 3 times a week, gym is 2 mile away = 624 miles
Joe visists friends, goes out to a local city for shopping, takes his wife to the hair salon, goes to the football match, drives his step mum and dad to the airport, goes and picks up a prostitute and atteneds his local car meet once in a while 1000s miles
15k is about average...

I've not at any point debated the actual average, hence IMO. Fleet/company cars drive the national average up so it's not entirely accurate for private cars. If only non commercial mileage was taken into account it would be much lower than 12k, therefore IMO a car that's not been used for fleet etc and covered 12k a year is on the high side.
