Agree with Nic, it's a shame, however much we mock, we've all bought it at some point.

I couldn't of said it better myself mate! I've just been to the supermarket and picked a copy up for old times sake to have a flick through.

Will defo get the last issue for memory's. I missed so many lessons at school because I was talking to mates about what we'd do to our first car whilst looking at the mag.... and Olivia's b00bs. lol

THIS.

I remember the first ever issue i bought in 1994 IIRC September issue, it had a Mk2 Escort on the front cover, free stickers and a mini with a big bodykit (zeemax?) on it. I thought project XS which was the purple wide arch E30 was the absoloute tits! Just used to love seeing the pictures of it white rusty and standard then the progress ones and finally all the big posters of it they used to give away. Awesome mag back in the day.

But like everything good in this country those with no shame or class get a hold of it and ruin it for everyone.

I used to love Max Power. It was a real pioneering mag for modifying. I've even got an issue 1 at home in mint condition. Wonder how much it'll fetch now?

I was talking to Stavs from Redline about this, he said, the women were dropped from their mag to increase revenue from advertisers and so the mag itself is more 'socially accepted'. Plus with mags like Zoo and Nuts, they can have the girls in now

Edit, Redline sales went up when girls were removed!

My dad used to work with one of the editors or photographers of Redline. Just saying...

The thing that killed the modified scene is ironically the thing you are on now; the Internet. Every dick and their dog wants a piece of it. Everyone gets their back up over fuck all and decides to start their own site therefore further fragmenting the scene. I used to go to cruises (yes, cruises, not tossers in a car park) where you heard from word of mouth.

Max Power has been shit since about 1999 TBH. But I haven't even looked at it in at least 5/6 years.
