I'm talking from experience

Maybe Corsa wiper motors are weak, but there was no more than 2-3" of snow...

So glad I'm not the first one to say that

I've winced whilst witnessing this year and last year a few people clear their entire car with funking great big brushes and brooms

If you're already going at 70 before you brake surely the majority of the snow no longer resides on the roof?

Either way if you know your wipers aren't strong enough then common sense tells you to clear it first.

70 was an exageration, but you get the idea. Everyone thinks to clear the windows, but not many people will think to clear the roof. I never knew the wipers wernt strong enough until it actually happened

Makes sense to clear the snow off the roof. On a few occasions I've been driving along happily with the heater on, snow melts slightly, I put the brakes on and then I'm totally blind! As said, the wipers then can't move that amount of weight which is bad news.

Bit stupid, since legally, your lights/number plates and windows are to be clear.

Fucking H&S.

Exactly, they'd be better off pulling you over and telling you why you should clear the snow. Sure you should fine repeat offenders, but for the first time education would be much better - I wonder why the police are surprised that no one has any respect for them.

So they've to stop X amount of hundreds of people and give them a ticking off? Not exactly a deterrant is it?

The reason people do it judging by half the replies on here is ignorance. Thus educating them may help!
£60 is not a deterrent at all. Just a PITA

Don't get me wrong, I'm not all for people getting fined etc. But in reality what ed suggested just wouldn't work, it's why fines were invented in the first place.

I seen some stupid trophy wife whore in her Range Rover yesterday with half of her window blocked due to her not clearing the snow off, bonnet and roof was full of it and she could see out the top half of her windscreen only, silly cunt.
