There is definitely alot of auto tune on his tracks. The whole selling millions of records its was baffling to be honest buddy. Saying all this though, there is far far far far more much much much worse stuff than this, without question

There is Auto tune but i was on about the stupid voice distortion stuff like T-Pain etc uses.
If you hear him rap on the radio1 website's interview with Tim Westwood (who I agree is a bell end), as OJC says, he sounds exactly the same as he does in his tracks.
Obviously won't appeal to everyone as with most things in life but still appeals to a lot of people, some of his lyrics are genius.

I was offered some "VIP" tickets to see this guy in Manchester last week from one of my old suppliers from my last job.
Turned them down as i'm not into this shizzle at all.
Turns out Rio Ferdinand and a few others were there in the same hospitality. Would have gone if i'd known.
Didn't realise this guy was so popular. I'd only heard of him from the thread on here ages ago.

Dont really get the whole drake thing - just seems completely average to me? I dont dislike him either - I cant really get too excited about monotone, preschool lyrics for 30 seconds at the start of someone elses tune.
Do like that rhianna tune though - been buzzing around my head for a few days - catchy as hell

"what if I kissed you right now" - my least favourite drake tune
Ive listened to alot of drake - couple of my mates are big into him - personally I just dont really get it. Its alright to stick on in the background, as I say - I dont dislike him, but I couldnt sit in my car and listen to his music by myself. Just dont think hes that special - lyrics make me cringe tbh

You don't like Drake but you do like Rhianna - Whats my name, says it all really.
Ollie is right, live at the Apollo on Thursday he sounded just like he does on his tracks although the female backing singer wasn't great. Saw Rio, Pennant, Ballotelli and Amir Khan.
I also prefer his less mainstream stuff, what if I kissed you right now was epic.

I didnt say I didnt like drake - I just dont see why people rate him so highly - If it connects with you and you enjoy it then thats fine, but for me its average monotone rapping, standard american r and b singing voice, standard boyband lyrics and looks ...I just dont see why he is so special....Im not a big kanye fan either but I could listen to a few of his tunes and get something out ofthem - for me drake is just nothing, background music
You seem to suggest that musically drake is somehow superior to Rhianna?
Drake makes pop tunes - so does rhianna - neither of them are pushing any boundaries or doing anything very special. I dont dislike either of them - they both make slushy, catchy, mainstream tunes for teenagers to buy. Both of them are pop stars first, musicians second.
What if i kissed you right now is mainstream im afraid - its a slushy r and b love song ...its pop -nothing special as far as im concerned.
"What if I kissed you right now
how would we explain it
trying to imagine how it might sound
if I just yelled out
What if I kissed you right now
would it bring us any closer
take a weight off our shoulders
take me I’m yours
and I don’t really care who knows it
can you afford to be open with all these emotions
if you were a secret how long could you keep it"
That could just as easily come from a rhianna tune as a drake tune...its not exactly thought provoking is it?
not in the same league as people like talib kwelli imo.
But as I said - im not knocking it, ifyou like it then thats fine- millions ofpeople seem to think hes much better than I do. Personally I just dont listen to much mainstream hip hop - prefer stufflike sage fancis, atmosphere, mf doom, living legends ect ect

You are a hater, you go green with envy when he drives by in his Aston Martin with his hood up and windows down.
