Ive got private pressed plates and came out seconds after a lad was trying to pull them off as he was saying "They are stuck on well" and checked them only to find clean marks where they had been touching it. Fucking theiving bastards
I carry my old ones as a spare set in the boot incase someone pinches mine so i can just stick them straight on.

I'd love it if that were the case

Yeah, you'd think they just spot numbers and get them made up via a dodgy garage or a "showplates" website where you don't need a V5.
Then no-one would report it etc. They get away with it for a while.
Doing them online would create a paper trail with payment, ip address etc though. I doubt they're clever enough to find ways around that! Plus costing 30 quid a time when they can just nick them.

People don't clone other peoples cars. The person who clones them owns the original car, they may of been used on getting a stolen car from a to b

WTF. What do you think cloning is then? Course they do. They use reg plates belonging to other cars.

i know i'll get shot down for this but oh well
i bought a black 1.6 sport, the exact same as mine at the time, it was a cat c write off so i couldnt insure it at the time, very minimal damage on it, i went an collected it from a salvage company and put the plates on it from my own corsa to get the car home
