fair enough, changed your tune from the first post saying it was 'purely for looks'.

The 406 Brembos are a bolt on conversion, might have been real.

Hispec and Willwood are pretty similar.

I had Hispecs with 288's and had Hispec rebuild them with new seals etc and they were such an improvement over the ATE's and Mintex pads!

Whatever you decide remember bigger brakes may help you stop better but fitting mahoosive brakes to a tiny car will only add to the unworthy weight and destroy the handling

You will find most 4 pot calipers even with bigger discs weigh significantly less than the standard iron calipers.

Mine were billet and you could throw them up in the air catch them in one hand

Here's a set I borrowed, fitted to mine - 280mm Discs;

Not a bad setup for £500 or so IMO - may invest in some for myself once my 292mm's wear out

The Wilwoods in my post above - 1 Caliper weighed LESS than 1 of the cast steel OE Caliper Carrier Brackets, never mind the whole Caliper/Carrier assembly

When I sold my 288's and went to post them, they weighed 30kg.

Every time I pick up my Willwood's I'm shock by how light they are.

Quick picture of mine

Fair enough that's your opinion, would just like to say I went from 2.0s to V6s and didnt notice the handling changing in any way, shape or form.

I've never had 2.0l brakes but the V6's where Awful. They stopped the car well enough but did nothing for the handling

You may not notice it but increasing unsprung mass is not desirable.
