i used to get calls all the time from CarData - some cockney guy sat in his living room telling me he knows someone who wants to buy my car. i just need to pay him £40 for him to pass my details on to the new buyer lol

scam, quite an old well known one actually. they wont sell your car, and you wont see any money back

Not sure if amex will be able to help you, they will be providing a service, they just won't sell your car, not sure if you've got grounds for getting the money back.

they didnt say it was from there, they are local and coming to view. no idea where they saw it. its advertised all over the place

I too thought this scam died a death my mum got caught out in like 2000 or something, that was 11years ago so alot of people must pay these guys money

Chap saw it on autotrader, sold for 2400 at least it's gone though. Got stung a ton but live and learn etc
