views on fast change as u move from car to car, i remember thinking my 1.4 8v corsa sri was pretty nippy!

now i class my clio 197 as nippy but not fast!

the van is fast and vx220 is really quick!

so 0-60 in around 7-8 is nippy

fast is 5-6

very fast is sub 4sec

thats just me tho :-)

For me a quick car is around 150bhp/tonne, a fast car would be around 300bhp/tonne

Or for figures, quick about 6-7secs to 60 about 14sec 1/4mile, a fast car under 5 sec to 60 and less than a 13sec 1/4mile

Last time I remember thinking this is fast was riding shotgun in a twin R1 engined mini 0-60 sub 3s and wheelies with warm tyres.
If I had to pigeon hole 'fast' I'd say sub 5secs 0-60 and still give you a good shove at 100mph. Top speed is fairly irrelevant IMO, it's how it gets there that's important.
Although something light and rattly will feel 'fast' with less than those parameters. e.g. my old nova 1.6 16v, topped out at 135mph (gearing limited, or 156mph with diff box) and 0-60 of sub 5, but it felt a lot quicker cos it was so raw.

Hard to say tbh, the only time I really say 'thats fast' is when something goes past me effortlessly

Too many areas to define what is fast

I dont rate 0-60 as a measure of a fast car at all, Id say 0-100 gives you a better idea. Got to be 0-100 in single figures to be fast for me

30-100 is where it's at for me.

i told my mate this in work but he's insistant that all his races are done from traffic lights.

i prefer having the car ready in 2nd and going for it, rather than dumping the clutch and wheelspinning upto 30mph.

as said its all subjective.

ibiza felt quick compared to a 1.2 8v corsa (understandable),
ibiza now feels slow compared to the 350 and everything feels slow compared to a airiel atom .

id go for power to weight/acceleration over top speed
