It never is and it's way overpriced, that's how I guessed You can get cracking massive pizzas from local ones for less than a tenner. I know you're made of money tho...
EDIT: Saying that, they could be shit round your way

2 - 3 month salary
It's supposed to be about the gesture rather than the materialistic side of things
Got more important things to spend salary on like the mortgage, her ring cost me something like £70 from Warren James, she loves it and knows how much it was,but then she's down to earth and appreciates the thought rather than the price

Fuck all tbh. Couldn't justify the expense for a really expensive ring, neither could missus. £300 I think. Which isn't much compared to some people.

Got mine from goldsmiths, picked it myself & she loves it, cost about £1200, picked the wrong size but they sized her up & ordered anew one and let her keep the original til it came.

Tbh if I'd have done the whole proposal thing properly i'd have spent more but we were sat in A restaurant one lunch in MK and I just said, do you think we should get married next year. She said yeah, so that was it. Bought the ring together lol. We had been together since 18 and we were 24 so it wasn't a big thing to do etc.
Looking back I regret not doing the one knee shizzle etc and I know she's annoyed I didn't lol.

Told me she was gonna sell it a while ago, don't know how much she got back for it though

I can't remember what I paid for my other half's engagement ring but it was custom made by someone in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham.

Legally she should have given it back to you if you split up, as by law it's technically yours not hers (doesn't apply to wedding rings though).
At least, that's what Judge Judy says

Fair enough if you want to spend thousands on it but any woman that insists you do probably isn't worth marrying

some people on here are terrible
i'd probably spend about £1500 on a ring.
3 months salary is just ridiculous. could get a nice car or other home improvements for that kind of money.

Be funny to see her face if they run into money issues, she decides to sell her ring (not like that you immature fuckwits) to raise some funds and she takes it to get valued.
