Not a very good mate then.
My mate lent me £30 the other week and he got it back 5 days later and he even said don't worry about it but if I owe money, I pay it. Simples.

If he is a good mate then just wait until he can pay you back.
If he isnt a good mate then just ignore the money and make sure nobody ever does him a favour again. Only been a few weeks, hardly need to worry about it.
Id be more concerned with the lack of full stops in that story tbh.

me and my mates always lend each other money here and there, always paid back as soon as they say they would even if they say 'i wont be able to pay you for 2 months' for example and it usually gets rounded up rather than down so usually end up getting a little something back for helpin them even if it's they buy a pint down at the local

I have two views, one being if he was a proper mate then he would pay up and be a bit more respecting of the favour, other view is if he was a mate then you shouldn't be so keen to get it back off him your a mate not a bank, surely you would know his finances enough to know when your getting it back?

If he couldn't afford to pay it back, why not say so (and give a valid reason not some bullshit and just ignore the guy).
People like this really piss me off. I get this shit with customers sometimes that owe me money let alone friends!

Old version:
LORD POLONIUS:
Neither a borrower nor a lender be;
For loan oft loses both itself and friend,
And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry.
New version:
Neither a borrower or lender be;
will cause' dramas with mates,
You'll see!

I'd feel embarrased to borrow money of a mate. I've had the same issues with some mates before though. Just ask him for it every hour

Depends on the person. I quiet generous and borrow pretty much any of my friends money, if i know i have it spare. I use to always borrow my mate £40 every other week for about 3 months...He told me a date when he would give it me back, and on that date (which i would forget about) use to ring me up and say im comming down in 'x' amount of minutes and give it me.

What is the problem with getting borrow and lend back to front?
You don't borrow someone money, you lend them it.
You go for a loan from the bank, not a borrow.
