i'll tell you why. tax goes to the DVLA and government. mot's paid in cash go in the garage owners pocket and not always on the books.

no reminder means more people are likely to forget to mot their car meaning fines and revenue for the government.

THIS.

Got a great little thing from mot center last week. Chucked it in the dash. Black screen, when 11 months pass it starts flashing bright red with not due in it. Only small and easy to stick somewhere u will see it.

tbh, why should they? its not in their interests to send our reminders.

Individual test stations quite often send out a letter, as your more likely to use them

Not a good idea tbh, as you'd be the one who pays for it, prices will go up for the cost of them sending you a letter. Mailing isn't free you know...

Use your fucking brain and remember whats due when... Not hard really.

We pay £2.05 per slot and charge £54.85, Average of 7 MOT's per day 6 days a week.

O and taking your non-taxi or bus down a taxi / bus only street is kinda obvious the trouble you might get in

1. I didnt intentionally go through the bus/ taxi street

2. I didnt say it was the end of the world and im usually good at keeping up to date with my mot, just think it would be handy to get a wee reminder

£55 for cost of MOT...if nothing fails, cost of being caught out, £60, worth the risk

this is why there is no reminder, printing, admin and postage wouldnt even cover what they are getting.

If they did that there would be less money elsewhere and no doubt people would moan about spending cuts aswell.

use the sticker or check it everynow and again.

When you get it, stick the sticker in the windscreen as it tells you the date the current one expires

Easy for people who got their cars from new. Tax, insurance and MOT (and service I guess) all comes through in the same month.
