I've seen quite a few Corsa B rally cars with IRS... If you're that worried its far easier and cheaper to just buy a different car

Fit a bearing in the middle of the beam, will have similar effects to independent suspension, then remove the arb and fit a Corsa C one

Wouldnt say I'm worried, I was just curious on how easy it would be. Turns out there is more involved than I thought.

That would make things a lot worse, its basically just removing any stiffness the back end has

Quoting this as the most sensible post in here as it seemed to be overlooked first time round

[flamesuit]Buy a Peugeot and enjoy great handling as standard[/flamesuit]
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

If I was doing it, I would be looking at getting the wishbones and hubs from the front, fabricate a subframe to hold the wishbones, adjust the suspension towers to suit, then make a mount for an adjustable arm to replace the track rod so then toe angle is adjustable.

You can induce lift off oversteer with a Corsa, you just need to be going fast enough. My 106 XSI was awesome for it though, such a fun car

Well my old one was. Only due to being stripped and having budget tyres on the rear with good tyres up front

they do this on autograss racing totally get rid of the rear beam and have two (trailing wheels) attached to independent wish bones were the rear beam used to be doesnt look that hard to do either just suppose you would have to be pretty good at geometry to line everything etc etc to make the car go in a straight line surely?

I've never noticed that to be a problem.. Maybe yours has got a bent rear beam/chassis?

Ive ran pikey tyres and stripped rear, only time rear end has gone twitchy is under breaking.
With a rear anti roll bar they reduce understeer abit but wouldnt say its to bad for lift off oversteer.

Rear anti-roll bars make lift off oversteer greater, its just physics.
