Could be the seal on the water pump, which causes the water to mix with the oil (giving the creamy white substance and water loss out of the coolant bottle)
Just had the girlfriends done last month on her 1.2, the seal had gone, water and oil mixed, dropped coolent etc. Same symptoms pretty much, and quite common, just had one on a 55 plate 1.2 done aswell.
