I can't believe it's the spacers, because they move the whole stub axle outwards, it's not like a wheel spacer where you are putting more levrange on the stb axle and therefore the bearing

A mate replaced his on a fiesta which are the same arent they? and they were about £80 a side.

i dunno im not expert enough on it, i did read some guy had an axle on his car that was an inch longer then standard spec, and it was fucking his bearings, changed it to stock size and it stopped.
i can see if there is more distance between where the suspension meets the axle and the wheel there could be more leverage to an extent

So we have concluded, it could be the spacers, but probably not,
Could be the drums, being replaced
Could be the stub axles.
any thoughts on it simply being pattern parts?

I think your wrong Steve, if it was a wheel spacer with the stub axle in it's original place yes, but you have moved the whole unit out by 10mm, so the wheel to stub axle measurement is no diffrent

20mm each side lol
i dont mind being wrong its just a theory i had, somethings wrong and i think the best way for me to be sure is to replace most the parts and return to stock, including wheels, also gives me a nice excuse to get new alloys lol

Don't be silly Steve, it will ne a simple thing, and as Lee said I'd be looking towards stub axles, no point reverting to stock when it will be somethinggn silly, but I don't imagine cheap parts and track days mix

Changing wheels and going back to standard isn't the route to go m8
Just go and do what lee has suggested first

you need to just have a good measure up and find the problem rather than throwing money at parts hoping it will fix it

offset isn’t that crucial imo, my nova runs et37 wheels, lots of people will tell you this ruins the handling and they must be et49 because of the effects on the factory roll centres and camber gain etc etc etc etc, reality isn’t so black and white, but if it makes you feel better then go for it, cars/handling/feeling/performance does rely on a few basic principles but none of that matters if you’re not comfortable pushing the car for whatever that reason may be!
