Dogs are great but also a massive pita if you want to go out anywhere for more than a few hours.

Wouldn't have one unless somebody was at home all day.

In all day because you are a benefit scrounger doesn't count as being at home all day btw.

I disagree with the comments on here, once it gets into a routine it'll be fine. We have a springer x collie, got him at approx a year from rescue centre. He spends night at my parents, day time at my grandads and odd weekend at mine and he loves it! Loves the fuss. Has a bed in every house and just makes himself at home

The dog would be sad the whole time you were away. I wouldn't, its not fair on the dog.

you could always look in to what breed is best for your situation and go from there. I dont see a problem with you having a dog that goes elsewhere when your working, likes been mentioned some people leave dogs locked up 9-5 every day

The reason I say about getting the best breed is that some dogs may not like the constant change of scenary and get distressed and then they start to eat your house from around you

I had a collie cross who was an angel but if my mum ever had her she literally chewed up a concrete floor!!

Greyhound.

As long as they have a nice duvet to sleep on and get fed/watered/occasionally walked they don't care where they are!

That could pose a problem then.

I dont think in his current situation I would get a dog tbh, its not really fair leaving it all the time as I have seen when on holiday dogs can get sad etc so not sure if they would get used to it or what?

i would never have a dog if i couldn't take care of it myself every day (apart from one annual holiday).

it's unfair on the dog. they bond with their owner and sending it away to other peoples houses every fortnight/month will make it distressed and upset.

don't even think about it.

fuck, i want a dog but i think it's unfair as most of the time it'll be sat indoors on its own while we both work.

That's why I suggested a greyhound - during it's racing career the dog will have got used to being around different handlers/owners etc.

They do have really nice temperaments and contrary to popular belief you don't need to take them out loads of times a day or let them run all the time - hence why they are known as 45mph couch potatoes.

Only downside is most of them don't like cats (but that's OK for me because neither do I )
