How would you compare them (speed wise) to a 206 GTi?
I have a 206 now but thinking of getting a 106 GTi next year.

140 or 180? faster than both tbh

http://www.carfolio.com/specifications/models/car/?car=100738 - 106 is 8.7 to 60 with 127mph top speed and 127.5 bhp per ton

http://www.carfolio.com/specifications/models/car/?car=77451 - 206 140 is 8.4 to 60 with 130 top speed and 130.7 bhp per ton

so i conclude the 206 gti 140 is faster although only slightly, they still handle very well too. A gti 180 will destroy a 106 gti without doubt

Never been in a 206GTI or seen one go.

Theres an XE Corsa appeared locally that i had a play with a few nights back up a private hill, he edged past me but i was comfortably parked on his bumper until reaching the peak of the private hill where there appeared to be a set of temporary traffic lights.

Having owned both i would say the XE has the edge but i do like my VTS, just doesnt feel safe above 120.

106 GTI is faster than a 206 GTI 180, the 180 is dogshit, my old man had one, doesnt feel anything think the 180bhp is supposidly has.

I had a GTI, VTS and two 16v XSIs, and the engines never let me down. Gearbox once, clutch once, driveshafts many, many times

Only thinking of getting rid as I can't really afford to run a 2.0L at the moment.

They are wrong. A VTS/GTi is easily in the 7's to 60. It's rumoured that Peugeot did the testing with two people and a full tank of petrol to give it a lower insurance group, but there's a good chance that's horseshit

I always thought the 206 138 was 8.0 and the 180 was 7.4 tbh. Probably wrong though

Just had a nose on Autotrader and according to them, 106 GTi is 0 - 60 in 8.7 secs. Just saying.

Nah, it's got a powerflow catback on it, theres a stainless decat there for it but its too loud for my liking.
Also has a cheap enclosed halforda filter on it, and i have no idea when it was last serviced

I love mine. Proper fun car.

Handles like a go kart, but then again its on Gaz coilovers so it should handle anyway. Pulls well, and makes me smile.

Will happily keep at the side of my mates 172 Cup, which has a Yozzasport de-cat back and panel filter, although mine does have a C2 VTs engine in.

Parkers isnt very accurate tbh, ive got a 306 gti6 parkers quote 0-60 in 8.5 when its around 7. IIRC official time is 7.4 for the 106.
