just had a conversation with technical at toyo.. it was said that a tyre repaired to british standard would be fine on the road, but on track its just a case of 'what if'. it could well be fine but i think id rather a decent tyre on tbh.
time to get one ordered i think.

Better off buying a Puma, just to be sure.

ive actually just ordered a new set of 4.. at least when they die i will still have these 2 with 95% life in them.
whos going to want 1 puncture repaired r888... my guess is not many people..

I like the fact that the two or three people to have actually had an experience of the thing that was asked have had their opinions cometely ignored, yet people who 'think' it'l blow up are getting listened to.
As said, guy at toyo's always going to suggest a new tyre from a business and liability viewpoint

nothing was ignored... it would be easier for me to save £300 and just use these tyres i have.
im changing them because im not 100% sure, and rather than risk damaging someone elses car or worse causing an accident id rather just have them changed.

ive unknowing went round the ring with a reraird tyre.
was on the shoulder aswell.
was fine.
peace of mind, ive put new tyres on, but thats mainly because they were mis matched. and i wanted then all the same.

Flip side, I was at Donington yesterday evening, guy was running some semi slicks, wore down the shoulder in a session, it then ripped and fell apart, taking out the sill, door, wing, bumper, headlight radiator and fog (thats what I could see anyway!), worst thing was that it had only just come out of the bodyshop last week with a pearl white paint job!

With 95% life left, I expect you'll get a good price for them. This thread shows that some people would use it and used 888s seem to sell well.

Yep exactly, might not just be a case of the tyre deflating. It's just not something I'd risk when you are driving on the car/tyres limits

I would drive it, could quite easily get a blow out or a puncture on a normal tyre

I've purchased 2x Toyo T1s for the front and leaving the Kumhos on the rear. I don't know if those tyres have ever been repaired.

So you rang Toyo the people whom make the tyres to ask if you needed more..... Is it just me that seems to think thats rather silly thing to do. As if they are going to say no they will be fine.
