Think ours would be just about 400k, 450tops

Or some land just by the Forest ground and trent bridge http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-16956426.html

Looks like that house has been glued together with pieces of other houses.

Not alot!

But its quite different in Cornwall to most other places.

As we have stupidly high prices, but stupidly low wages.

And Chloe, if you can only find a 3 bed house in Rotherham for 400k, you need to look harder. I am pretty sure you can buy Rotherham for 400k and have change!

400k down here could either get you a 3/4 bed semi in a nice ish area, or a 1/2 bed bungalow in a shit hot location.

I live in a village about 10 miles outside Oxford and all you can get round here for £400k is average looking detached houses. This is in the nearest town: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-29544373.html

is the weather really that bad up north? - I really wouldn't mind moving to scotland or something when I'm a bit older. Your money seems to buy so much more and the scenery is beautiful.

I really like the idea of having some large house with double garage near some large mountains for down hill mountain biking and a lake to go fishing.

We've covered this before, but decent places in Scotland aren't any cheaper than England, apart from that wee bit around London that costs stupid money.

Went to look at this last week and loved the property however I think it's a little remote for my liking.

Get so much more for your money up north.

Could have my parents small holding for that money. 3 bed cottage, few acres, stables in a rural location.

Wouldn't dream of spending that on a semi!
