well what im doing for my x18xe1 got my engine number off the block right cc and engine code in to make sure they dotn send it back ring vauxhall and get them to send you a headed bit of paper out with details of engine cc etc and send it to dvla im all legit ha

your insurance goes to the group of the engine.... When i had 2.0 16v it was with Hic and insured as Corsa (astre GTE)

But whoever said insure it as a cav engine is correct insurance group lower than an astra

The SRI Hatch was the cheapest XE engine'd car to insure back in the day when I used to mess with Corsas.

been reading the dvla website there so if i have a recipt off the person i bought my engine off and send the v5 it will get regestered
