i layed my carpet in my bedroom all by myself and it was pretty easy.
just make sure you have sharp blades at your disposal.

 Want to rip the god awful fireplace out but would then need to recarpet. Don't want to spend too much on a rented house though

i got mine for £50 quid some sort of ex-display off cut thing.
just about stretched across my room after a good hover looked good as new.
showed my mate a picture soon after and she was well as she wanted black carpet and i beat her to it

I've just priced up some cheap stuff from carpet right and it's about £70, should be able to get it a bit cheaper from the local place as well
Means I get to play with a sledgehammer
