my main thoughts are i could sell bits of this, but keep my suspension, brakes, wheels and interior, buy another corrado with low mileage and swap some bits over, i really do like the corrado shape and don't see many of them around, which appeals to me.
or i just sell up everything, see how much money i get, then wait for the right corrado to come along, in the meantime i would just drive the escort

thats my thoughts, i doubt any cars of that age/mileage are rust free 
its not too bad, but looks a right pig to fix, the sill is form of three piece of body and they all join there, is like 3 skins of metal to sort out. and hard to get to them, without cutting loads of sill out.
my options/thoughts for a new car have been
E46 M3, but then might find myself in same situation as corrado.
Scirocco on finance

im quite disappointed by this news 3cm, you wont get any enjoyment or satisfaction from buying your way out of working on a car. It will just end up being a car and not a hobby and you will lose interest in it

Yer but its had a engine rebuild in 2005 and got a jabba supercharger on it aparantly. Its a bloke at work selling it. Its on ebay at the moment check it out. I might have it for shits and giggles but i dont know what i would do with it

i don't know much about the G60 engines, i heard they require more servicing and not as reliable as the VR6.

i am really weighing up my options at the moment, not sure what to do.
A) Fix my corrado, paint the bits myself and not be too fussy about having perfect paint, but still need a respray and new engine at some point.
B) Sell all the corrado in parts, keep all the money ready to buy some other car or another corrado.
C) Buy another corrado with good engine and body, swap over my interior, and maybe suspension, brakes and wheels and all the other bits i've bought, then sell parts left over and scrap whats left of mine.

i am liking option C, might get mine back on the road, but not go for 100% perfection, then just drive it and not worry about the engine, and all the time keep an eye out for the right corrado to come along

also whilst we're on the subject, what tyre repair thingy do you carry with you? after feeling how much the spare ways i'd really like to keep it out the car if possible
never used a can before, does it actually work every time? no risk of it not working (unless the tyre pops off the rim or whatever?)

Exactly my point, it does appear daft to anyone who is looking at it purely financially.
Although I wouldn't like seeing the Corrado stripped either, its just history.
Any car would get to that point, I almost think it about Pumas but they're not rare just yet.

At a guess, it gets hot because it's not designed to go that fast and fails. All sorts of reasons, tread could delaminate because it's not designed to deal with that amount of friction, sidewall will be relatively heavier at higher speeds, that could fail, might not be in balance going that fast or the effects of misbalance are more terminal. Plus it would handle poorly if you needed it. Straight line is hardly the major test.

I don't know anyone who's life to-do list incorporates risking their life by doing 140mph in a car with a 125 tyre on one of the wheels. Are you honestly trying to tell us that you're so numb you didn't realise almost halving the width of your normal tyre wouldn't have any ill affect on the handling. If so can you kindly surrender your license and GTF off the roads before killing innocent people because you think you're invincible.
