My colleague has had a gearbox replaced and turbochargers fixed, four figure sums minimum.

I thought this too
I suspect Q7 is out of the price range. They're not cheap.
GL is the same. Expensive.
Both are monsters

living in the countryside
In all fairness the ex's Vogue was a company car so She didn't have a choice in it particularly.
This missus has her own stables and horses plus runs a haylage/feed business on the side of her main job hence needing something more agricultural. Her Stables are accessible through the old quarry her Dad owns and up a hefty incline. She's been using her Dad's knackered tractor since selling her Freelander but that's died a death now so its time to get rid of the golf.

I think you'd feel bad chucking one in a Disco3 too!
How about an Amazon? A universe apart from the Disco in reliability terms!

Can't get over the price of the GL. My dads mate has one I thought they where serious money!
You can get your fingers between the boot lid and the rear lights, plus the bumpers always look like they are hanging off (bearing in mind its never had any repair work) even though they are on as tight to the body as possible!

She wouldn't feel bad at all, came back to my car with two bales in the boot the other day. However, I'd feel bad seeing her do it, less so in a D3 as work have a mould tool to make a really neat boot lining tray.

Her car's for sale now; as soon as that's gone, She'll be getting something, She's hoping in 2-3 weeks- I suspect D3 as She won't listen to me and in all honesty, its not my car so I'm not influencing her decision too much.
D3 is cheaper to insure than her Golf which is a bonus

Gun Metal Grey I think is the current choice of colour. Disco4 grill looks too pimp for turning up on farms
Went to see a RR vogue last night and the rear lamps were brimmed with water, not just a few drops of moisture - they were like fish tanks!!

Nice Davey, rare to see one without the privacy glass too. Silver or black is the best colour!
