i thought UK law was getting reviewed to stop daft cases like this?

I.e more commonsense applied.... the owner has some rights to protect his/her home from intruders?!

tbh, i can recall afew similar cases around manchester in the last year or so, kerry linked to one of them. they've got off with it, which IMO is right. If these theives start getting attacked back they might start thinking twice about doing it in the first place

Im sure it will (well it should) get dropped they have to arrest the house owner though just to make sure it was a case of self defence/the other bloke was breaking in.

it cant be just a case of oh yeah you killed a bloke but he doesnt live here so its all cool.

Pretty sure it was the burglars own knife that killed him in this instance.

Before we jump all over the police they do have a duty to take this guy in for questioning, hopefully the version of events is as described though and he is freed without charge.

Floral tributes outside the house though, what the fuck, just wait and stick them on the scumbags grave if it means that much to you

Geordie corsa is right too, my friends boyfriend got brayed with a lump hammer by some smackhead that broke in his house cos he went to confront him.

Guy got caught tho which was good.

Justice system works again, starting to have a bit more faith in it now, especially how it dealt with the looters.
