I'm 30 and have had 4 jobs, I left school with a few GCSE's and went straight into work, I'm now mobile plant fitter and I love 99% of the time.

30, been doing same job since I was 16 after 6 months doing A-levels.

Only worked for two companies, second one went bust last year so now I'm self-employed.

Anyone sensing a slight lack of ambition on my part

I'm 24 now and upto now I've been an apprentice mechanic, after 2 1/2 years got bored and started working for my Dad delivering pies, then after about 2 years he sold up and we set up a vending company so that's what I've been doing for the passed 4 years.

The transition between mechanic and pie deliveries was easy because I was bored and it was a change that I needed. Obviously the latter change wasn't a straight forward job transition but it's never going to be when you're starting business.

Left school with no idea what to do, wasted 2 year at college doing web design whilst working part time for Sainsburys, finished college did Sainsburys for another year then I was lucky enough to get in a career style job at the age of 19 working for London Underground.

I'd recommend getting on the railway to anyone, it's decent pay, decent hours & aslong as you don't mind getting your hands on it's just a laugh really. Obviously this doesn't apply to all jobs on the Underground but 99% of people who I work with are happy with their job, I can't imagine you'd get that kinda feedback from many jobs.

Plus you get a good pension aswell

I did pretty much the same thing Graham.
A level in graphic design and worked part time as a chef. Decided I didn't want to do graphic design at got an aprentiship in a Porsche bodyshop

I work in IT doing mainly support and some installs when customers have money or want to move over to the cloud. Pay is standard and it's eally don't know what else i could or want to do.

i had good gcse's and tidy A levels. took 2 years out to get some life experience and to earn some money. currently in uni doing a degree in nursing. always different, loads to learn with medicine changing all the time and meet new people everyday. and plenty of options to go down in the future.

i want to go onto the rigs for a bit as an engineer whenive finished, the vacancies ive seen require minimum 2.1 in engineering at degree level. could potentially obtain qualifications while working on there but wheres the fun in that? ive just had one of the best 2 weeks ofmy life during freshers

I could make some serious wonga oing that if I could make the break, without doing anymore actual work than I do just now.

As for uni, majority of people have completely diddy degrees, no life experience and no common sense.

Of course they wont get jobs.

Just looked for some contracting jobs and they would allow me to have a 3 weeks notice period. Pretty easy really and im gonna be earning around 3x what im on now
