My mates running a S1 elise with an Edition 30 golf TFSi motor in it, stage 2+ revo software etc... mentally fast little car!

Iirc the K20 conversion for the S1 Elise is circa 8-10k +car

Silly money when you could buy a Vx220 for less and SC it for £3k

Probably cost a bit more as ud want 250bhp with charge cooler really.

Lotus said they wanted to use the K20, but they got stuck with Toyota unit in the S2.

I'd love a S1 Elise, I should of bought one when I had the chance.

Been looking into the lotus s2. Didn't realise the different engines available. The Toyota 1.8 vvt in them seems a good engine. Seem a tidy price too, can get a 2003, low millage one for 11-12k. And the rover engined one's a but cheaper.
Looked on a project thread on lotus talk. Someone did the k20 swap and said it's really easy, just a direct swap. Said a child could be shown to do it. Must be worth doing if you've got the rover engine.
