Question for you all.
Undertaking:
If I am sat in lane 1, and some idiot is in lane two doing 60, I am doing 70. Do I have to go to lane 3 to overtake or stick in lane 1?
Now my interpretation is that I should not undertake normally, but all lanes are clear and the idiot is in the wrong.
I am not driving dangerously as I am just continuing my speed.
Highway code says 'Do not undertake', but that is advisory, not mandatory.
Just arguing with a guy at work who says it is illegal bla bla bla.
Opinions? Experiences?

AFAIK you can undertake as long as you don't change lanes to do so and are continuing at a normal steady pace
I.E. you can't go from lane 2 to lane 1 to undertake but if you're in lane 1 you don't need to move to lane 3 to go past

HATE twats that stay in the middle lane on the motorway when its clear.
the other night coming home there was a bmw going about the same pace as me and stayed in the middle.
annoyed the fuck out of me when he sped up just as i was about to overtake a car in the left lane [/rant]
