All depends on weights of tow vehicle, trailer and weight of what's in or on the trailer.

I'd like to know how I find out if I can drive the Landrover with the cattle trailer on the back, I have done before but not sure if I'm actually legally supposed to...

Pretty sure you would need further tests for one assuming you got your licence after 96/97 as you wont have the relevant category. think licence's after this allow up to 3500kg?

And if you're under 23 they wont rent it to you.

I've got a mate in the buisness however I think he has just lost his garage to store cars while working on them so he can only do bits of cars. . You want some work.

Done a little bit of research and if I'm reading right you wouldn't be able to tow another car on a trailer with your license.

I'm sure they could make it easier to understand than it is, it seems like a bit of a riddle.

if usuing one of those transporters then you can carry up to 1.5t which should be plenty for what you need, your license covers you up to 3.5t

Did you see this bit Nathy?

Mileage allowance of 250 miles any miles over 250 are charged at 9 pence per mile. (This means that if, for instance, you travel 350 miles we charge an additional Ł9 for excess mileage.)

Re: Trailer.

You can pull a trailer providing the combined weight of the towing vehicle and loaded trailer isnt more than 3.5t. I think the towing vehicle has to be heavier than the trailer and load too.

And the MAM of the trailer is less than the unladen weight of the tow vehicle.

Yeah so I can't even pull an empty or lightly loaded cattle trailer (legally) cos the MAM of the trailer will push it over the total 3.5T limit. Even though the weight of trailer and Land Rover combined is less than 3.5T it goes on what it could potentially carry. Unless I've read that wrong.

It's a daft law when you think that someone a bit older than me can drive round with a large trailer on and not even be able to back the bloody thing up and that's perfectly legal yet I'm fairly decent at reversing with a trailer and I'm limited to a shitty little trailer cos I didn't pass my test before a certain year

And the stupid thing is larger trailers are easier to reverse with

Why are you even discussing towing laws when we all know he won't actually buy it?

Yeah, the Landy and cattle trailer is a fair bit beyond category B.
