If it was my car I'd like to keep the xe and put standard rims on it......but its your car.

Really nice, looks really clean. I always talk about how much I miss mine.

Happy motoring!

this is my 1st GTE iv had a fair few novas and though it would be similar to one of them but considering the age it drives like a new car its really light and smooth etc i was quiet shocked i was expecting it to be a bit harsh and bangy and heavy and noisey etc but i was pleasantly suprised!!

this is great on the motor way with the 6 speed sits at just above 2k at 70 which is great hardly used any fuel on the 200mile trip home, the clocks in it say 81 the current mot says it was motd at 78 but how many different clocks and engines and god knows what its had over the years i dont know

Nice one, leave the XE in though otherwise you'd just be ruining it imo. Same with all these B GSis and C SRis with LETs in, keep it original if you ask me. Conversions are what pov spec models were made for

In relation to the F28, isn't it a much heavier box than say an F20 thus canceling out the extra gear and slightly lower RPM in 6th.

Thats always what ive been lead to beleive over on MIG etc when folk ask about putting an F28 onto a standard XE. They say it ins't worth the hassle with no real gains due to the extra weight.

cant honestly say iv heard that before you may be right i cant see the weight of the gearbox affecting it that much if im honest iv done long distance motorway miles in xe corsas on f20 boxes and it definately seems better but i dont know, i dont mind either way because value wise its a £200 box as opposed to a £40 box lol

Depends what sort of driving you'd be doing, but i'd say the 6 speed could be a good idea.
