what i didnt get about itv coverage was how there was so many ad breaks during the race yet they can show 45 mins of football without any breaks

It's because ITV are woeful at presenting sport, hence the reason they only really have the football, and they can't even do that well. The presenters are horrible, the commentary is laughable, all in all they're a joke of a corporation for sport, but unfortunately they are the only ones bidding as the BBC can't afford to go for most decent sports.

WTF have Simon Lazenby and Georgie Thompson (anything like her A1GP days, she'll be absolutely shite! 'Doesn't know her arse from elbow') got to do with it? Likewise I think they made a bad choice with Natalie Pinkham, McKenzie is a lot better with drivers and being in the paddock.
Fair play on the rest of the line up, probably best of the bunch although surprised DC didn't make the jump.
Be interesting to see what the BBC do; hopefully EJ will get the boot though!

She was pretty cack on R5L this year. Commentary for the races and practices will be good just not sure on the pre-race build ups; guess we'll find out in 4 months time.

Also just got an email from a mate who works at Sky Sports, who's name is Andy Gray , with a photo of the McLaren F1 car in the reception area of the Sky Sports studios.

Fair Play with Ted, he must have been pissed off doing fook all on the BBC. Atleast he had a bit more to do on ITV.
The others though, not sure what they have to do with F1!

It must be doing the roundsas Brother said he had it in work (GSK) for a few days last week. Surprised it's the 2011 car though, thought they would have that under wraps considering regulations aren't changing much next season.

Ben Edwards to pair with DC on the BBC. He's ok on the BTCC but he's a bit plain and I can't see him bringing much to the commentary team. Although anything is better than Legard

Wouldn't have thought there was enough power sliding action for him?

Towards then end of his commentary he was pretty woeful at knowing WTF was actually going on but it'd be good to see him co-commentate, Silverstone perhaps, for reminiscence sake.
Tbf i was hoping they'd bring in Mansell, although commentary would probably be a bit too technical having two ex-F1 drivers.

That was part of his charm though Dom and as a commentator on tv its less important than say Radio that you actually know whats going on
Murrays voice is just F1 for me, when they had him on at Silverstone, it made me smile. He's one of the few "famous" people who im genuinely going to be upset about when he dies. Just comes across as the nicest guy in the world

Are we gonna have the adverts for their new channel every single day until March
The BBC, by an large, did well with their coverage, so Sky have to really make a quick start from the get go with how they do things. If they give us a serious amount of new content, then we should be happy.
No adverts when the race is on is clearly a must, as they have said, but I don't want constant adverts every five minutes for a qualy or race build up.
Being able to watch practice without going through the red button on the BBC is pretty good. Hopefully they replay the race a few times a week on their channel, as I like to watch the GP a couple of times.
Having Brundle is fantastic, though.
As I say, they really need to fly out the traps. (Sky)

Good point Batman but I would never say Brundle's commentary is very technical compared to ex-drivers like DC or Davidson. Him and Blundell always seemed to dumb down for the audience.
On another note, it'd be nice to see Chandhok do commentary; hopefully the BBC will get him to fill in more often next year.
