If you look at the component parts of a sausage and a haggis... how is a haggis not a sausage?

How many sausages have you seen cooked in a sheeps' stomach, man? I see what you're saying though. There are haggis sausages. But they are fuckall on IB sausages.

sausages traditionally were cooked in intestines so there's not a lot of difference there.

they're both basically offal stuffed inside some sort of digestive tract offcut, mixed with spices and herbs.

The only difference I can see is haggis has suet in it

Haggis is made of sheep heart, lungs and liver with barley and spices. Sausages are normally made of pork, mixed with spices. Sheep and pigs are different animals right?

Probably sausages. The point was merely that haggis is a specific thing and not really a sausage.

So the argument is that some specific ingredients in haggis aren't in sausages, although many sausages have differing ingredients but are also called sausages but a haggis, which is essentially the same idea but in a sheep's stomach is not a sausage?

Does that mean it's not the ingredients but the skin which defines it?
