Is it like the Corsa D SXi has a different gearbox?

GF's old one was shit on M'Way 1.2 SXi but her parents 1.2 was great on fuel at 70, 80 on M'Way as revs were alot lower at those speeds!

That's the spirit, Barnes.

I gave my pal a shot of my car last weekend (female, so expected sensible driving), and she rinsed £70 in 200 miles

Getting around 120 miles to 60L of gas, no idea to what it works out in but i know its not a lot. TBH these new fiestas etc arent actually that small and a bigger engine in them is sometimes the better choice if you are doing long NSL trips.

Just worked it out to 9.8 mpg

i'm thinking about just getting a big (3l) cc n/a for work. the figures say 30mpg is achieveable with sensible motorway driving but i'm worried it may go down quite a lot judging by how crap the fiesta has been on fuel.

was behind an original mini last night, with a fiat 500 next to it.

the difference in size was ridiculous i've never realised how small the old mini's were to modern ''superminis''.

I drive mine to and from work, to and from the 5 a side park and to and from the birds house. In the 4 or 5 months I've had it it's averaged 20mpg.

Bought it for a bit of fun though so can't complain, I'll get shot next year.

I got 32.7 mpg off my last full tank. Gets me about 400 miles, did less than 30 of them on the motorway.

Speed doesn't always mean fun. They really are boring in the delivery. In my opinion of course.

none of these mpg threads really debate the proper subject properly.

They just turn into post after post of people saying what mpg they get.

@Ben

my example would be the Corrado 2.9VR6 vs the Corrado 16v's, same car, VR6 is heavier and bigger engine but the mpg is similar or better on a VR. Tax is the same.
