Agree, not looking forward to paying stupid money for a week of saucisses et des frites in France.

I'd rather just eat mega calorie food and get on with the day.

I love skiing, can't do it to save myself but its a right laugh when theres a few of you. The last time was a few years ago at Glenshee. Paid for the ski lift, went up thinking it will be a riot trying to ski down, got off at the top with a few mates already there and the look of terror on there faces worried me. I got off turned around and looked down, FUCK ME it was seriously high and steep, didn't look anywhere near that bad from the bottom looking up. took us all an hour getting back down

I was out there on the 2nd for the night and the snow cover was better than all last season. On the 4th they were bombing to prevent avalanches and Val D had a police curfew in place from 6 onwards.

Can't wait to get back out to Verbier in March.

Don't come to Scotland-fucking sketchy, icy, patchy, shit snow. Between the missus and I, we've done close on £250 of damage to our gear and boards. Rocks sticking out of the pistes beneath the drag lifts, muddy/ grassy patches across the whole piste in places and the snow that is here is so solid, you can't even kick into it or dig in-lad of scotch wank!! Fuck you Nevis, fuck you!!

I sense you are a bit bitter about your day in Scotland.

For info, not all days are like that. We've had a few powder / bluebird days already this season:

That's what we had last year - the guys working up here this year don't seem to give a fuck- spent no time up keeping the piste, there are snow reserves piled up but still huge gaps in the pistes. The summit park was meant to be open with various rails, boxes and kickers but there isn't one. Last year the guys were working all day with what they had to keep more runs open, this year with more snow, they're doing nothing. I understand the rough weather but 40 of the 60 chairs on the lift are broken beyond repair- seriously, it's a disgrace this year!!

Ed, one busted boot, one fucked jacket (missus got caught out by a moss/mud patch, fell and ripped her brand new jacket), I've ripped my sallopettes on a stud sticking out of a Poma lift and the wort is she's pushed the metal edge into the core in the nose of her board when she hit a rock on the lift-stupid thins like that shouldn't be happening

The T bar lift actually has vast stretches of moss and mud that you get pulled through, there were 16 of us including sponsored riders, instructors and all highly experienced and we all said it was the worst conditions we've ever experienced and when the lift operators on the mountain are themselves telling you it's sketchy or 'fucking shite', you know it's not for the best

Take it back, much better today- that's not to say awesome by any means but I think our grievances with the staff yesterday were heeded, pistes groomed, snow brought onto runs, freestyle stuff out and the staff all seemed much friendlier and happier

Only spider, summit, Duncan's drop and the goose are complete- had a few traverses and grass runs between posted to get back to the restaurant etc. you need a good weather day and weekend to make Ye most of it-weekdays they don't do enough to the pistes but today was a good day
