I'd get back on the Internet Ben. I'll own loads of good stuff that you've never heard of.

North Face is a quality brand that chavs in certain areas have adopted like they did Berghaus a few years back. I wear it for its practical use not as a fashion statement. Thankfully I'm clearly not a chav either.

North Face is worn by people that have all the gear and no idea. You see them in town on a cold day wearing their big North Face jackets but they've never been off up a mountain in their life. Probably drive Land Rover Discoverys that never go off road either.

I agree with mwg, specialist wear is probably a bit cheaper and a lot better than branded. I have a 10 year old £100 Buffallo Special 6 Shirt, that still keeps me warm and dry, but nobody has ever hear of Buffalo System Sheffield , and i have a £150 Mountain Equipment waterproof jacket that the lining is all falling out of

No-one had heard of Mammut when I got my down bag. I have a mixture of cheap, expensive specialist, and commercial "branded" gear and it all does the job really well. #jobdone.
Apologies to the internet for having a NorthFace jacket tho.

My family. I wouldn't buy something I never heard the brand of.
I'm sure you are going to tell me that Mammut are shit and the chavs use them tho.

I quite like Mammut. If I didn't buy things my family had never heard of I'd have no stuff.

I've used mine occasionally to walk to work, be lucky if it's seen any heavy rain at all.

I used to have a bright orange tog 24 jacket, had a bright yellow fleece lining and you could turn it inside out, must have looked a right twat.
