I spoke to them to get that info, said they can only post it out to me, then i forward it to insurer.
PD say that once they get it they will pass it on to chaucer who are the insurer, and its up to them if they change the date of cancellation.

Just random call centre bod and bird who keeps emailing me.
Should i wait til i get the letter from dvla and hear back from pd, or should i phone and ask for supervisor etc?

Phone your bank and do a direct debit indemnity? Seems the easiest option.

Call bank, say your insurer has made the mistake and the bank can get you the money back. The insurer do have an option to challenge it mind you but its worth doing if you cant get anywhere when you phone.

Ah right, if they agree to backdate the cancellation i could get everything back from august, if i phone bank will i not be limited to just the last dd? £160 in dd's, and this final dd of £106.
Worth looking into if they refuse to backdate it though, i will have to wait to get the v888 to them then the insurer make their mind up, so guess it could be a while for that?

You can get it from when you sold the car, you are covered under the direct debit gaurantee but tbh you are in the wrong so you may encounter issues when your insurer finds out.

Go on computer, type up a reciept for the car.
Sign Once
Sign Again using other name.
Send to the insurance company.
Get money back

The way to make them give me it? They have said its up to the insurer if they are going to backdate it. Which sounds like theres a good chance they wont, so i wanted to know how to go about making sure i at least get some of it back.

That's just so the call centre can blame someone else and give you no other means of communication. I would not consider that a real answer.
I think the problem so far is not being clear, did you work out exactly what they owe you?

160 from direct debits after the car was sold, then 106 from direct debit for a final payment.

You paid the DVLA fiver yet? I'd probably go for that as a penalty to shredding important things.

Dont pay that til i send the form back to them with a utility bill. But yes, i will keep them from now on. Never needed to keep one before.
