I've never been asked for mileage.

They were a bit funny me changing 3 cars in 1 policy term before, just asked a couple of questions and that was it.

Adrian Flux make you sign a mileage declaration, which also mentions that.

Mentions what about it though? Does it state that the car isnt allowed to go over the certain mileage or is it just the driver?

I'll take a look, but it definitely states somethins along the lines about the total mileage the car will do with any driver.

I'm 29 this year and I've been paying £1k for the last 2 years on a shed. If mine doesn't go down I'm going to kill someone (not in my car mind, don't want it to go up).

Text they use on the declaration...
quote:
I declare that the mileage covered by my new vehicle, together with the mileage on my preious vehicle(s) will not exceed the current mileage limit of my policy, which is X miles per annum.

Does say vehicle, nothing specific about policy holder.

They check the mileage for your MOTs since they are all on a computer now.

But my car would of said 87...k and I was driving it for over a month before my renewal was due which I swapped Insurance companies. So I could just say in that month I was driving under a different company I covered 2k miles ontop of what my mot says so its nothing to go by

when an insurance company askes how meny miles you think you will do in a year its to base it on risk of how much more likly you are to have an accident then dont check using MOT they would only check that at point of an accident and even then about 90% dont any way to much work for an underwrighter

people that say ''my insurance has gone up''.

firstly, are all your details the same? is it the same car?

secondly, are you going off the renewal price or the lowest price from other companies?

renewals are always more expensive as the company preys on lazy people who can't be bothered to change.

If you were to tell the insurance you do 3k or 10k a year, your premium wont make that much of a difference

2k a year was mega money
3k a year was nearly 200 cheaper
10k a year was the same as 2k

also its very easy to change a set of speedo clocks come MOT day
