Don't get it across your chest, that is possibly the gayest tattoo ever.

John, I know what you mean but that quote in particular is something that can't really be improved on as far as the meaning goes for me

The way that ive always looked at it. Especialy with tattoos is you get what you pay for.
I know a lad who got 2 hands together in the praying position. Was cheddered that it only cost him £150. It looks like a fooking cabbage has been smashed with a hammer
if it costs fuck all it will more than likley be shite. Simple as that realy

Went into the shop again today as arranged with the girl last week. I started off by asking almost immediately if I could talk to an artist about the work I'm wanting done and a girl came out and chatted to me for a bit.
I asked if she had any examples of tats that they've done in the same sort of style I'm after and she showed me a few of the poster boards with pictures of everyone in the shop's work. She stopped at one that had the sort of font I'm after with probably about 7 or 8 different tattos on it - I pointed to one that stood out for me and said about how it was very similair to what I wanted, with dead crisp lines and a bit if shading in there too. Turns out that it was actually one of hers that she had done, so I'm happy with the artist. I mentioned the whole cash thing, about how it wouldn't put me off but I thought it was quite expensive. She's said to do the tattoo properly would take about 2.5-3hrs and they charge £80/hr. It's a bit steep as hourly rates go, but if it turns out anything like the ones I saw I'd happily pay it. I've told her how I want it kind of like the basic font with bits added and she's going to work on a couple of designs and give me a phone when I've to come down and go over them with her.
Much happier with the service this time and I look forward to the phone call.

Yes, I think you're missing something. Basically I know fuck all about how long a tattoo takes but if it takes the time stated and it's as good as the previous work the girl's done I'll be more than happy. If it takes any less then I'll be paying less so it'll be a bonus. Quite simple really?

You mentioned shading previously, maybe if it's quite a big peice the shading will take a while?

I'll look them up Edd, why do you recommend them? It's going to be quite big Gaz, about 5 or 6" x about 3" and it's all getting shaded, I can see it taking time anyway

Got to remember most places use the time to transfer it on as well which eats into your slot, and if it takes less time they will charge for the hours its taken. They wont book you in for 2 hours if they feel its going to take longer.

Got this done on Friday after work, I'm dead happy with it. Even though there was a last minute change of artists it may well have been a blessing in disguise, the original girl I booked it with was busy even though I'd booked a week in advance.
Rate or slate, I don't give a fuck because I'm chuffed to bits:

I wouldn't be happy wit that with how much you've paid tbh. I like the tattoo but you've paid top dollar and thats not top class work. Wobbly lines and half arsed shading

I like it but the small line around the P makes it look like a B from a distance, this might look different in the flesh but on the photos I did think it said BEOPLE at first
