Would be interesting to see what happens. However, I doubt it will look anything like an ice age mammoth (cosmetically) as organisms adapt to their surroundings at the foetal stages.

That doesn't make any sense, a human baby is born a human baby, if you took it into space and delivered it on the moon it wouldn't suddenly be able to survive with no atmosphere.

You cant take the Rotherham out of the foetus mate.

Odd response.
I'm referring to the transition of the skin cells (malpighian, melanocytes).
It'll grow it's fur, but it's skin can only produce the cells based on the information/radiation (infrared) it detects to which you then either have a certain skin pigment.
Albinism is the classic malfunction during this process.
I'm not saying it will be one foot tall and have three heads.

but on the rotherham hand, if they are saying they will clone it, then it will be a clone of a wooly mammoth?

How much infra-red radiation does a foetus detect in the womb?
Why are black babies still born in Scotland?

Genomes, but you're mistaking the difference between environment with your use of Scotland's coloured children and the scientific processes of these studies. The key word was cosmetic and it would need a womb, a matched blood supply and a constant cycle of hormones in order to be an exact copy. It'll be similar in size and shape, but it could be slightly altered in characteristics and colour, purely because of the above. That's not my theory, it's basic biochemistry.
You can clone organisms with the DNA. That's rather obvious, but Prof Marmot's work is a very trusted and proven.
You've obviously got a communal bubble, so I'll leave you to it. Such an odd response.

I'm still waiting for an explanation and not just loads of meaningless jargon.

P.S. John, I didn't see your comment, sorry. However, it's still basic biochemistry. If you dot want waffle, read something simpler like an A Level tuition page. Some good basic Level 3 info out there.

if it lead to cloning body parts etc then amputees, or people born with disfigured limbs etc could have new normal ones??

Exactly... And why don't they at the moment???
Wonky ears confirm Marmot's theory.
Good day!

So basic biochemistry says that skin will change it's properties because of infra red radiation levels in the environment, before it's born?
That doesn't happen as far as I'm aware and it's a completely discrete issue from albinism or some other mutation.

There's some cloning going on somewhere that's for sure

Infrared radiation only penetrates the skin slightly, so can you explain to me how this gets through a layer of skin in the mother, through the amniotic fluid to then be absorbed by the cells and basically mutate?

Despite your apparent knowledge on the matter, you're quite inconsistent in your theories!?
So it will look nothing like a mammoth, except for the shape, size and fur?
Skin tone, underneath the fur that is, MIGHT be SLIGHTLY different, hence rendering the animal almost unrecognisable in comparison to the expected look of an animal extinct for thousands of years.
What I really want to know is, why do they even bother then?
