What does a Honda dealer know about a non-standard car that's getting on a bit?

They won't have known anything about it when it was brand new and standard, getting them to 'check it over' (I'd love to known what that entailed) is a bit stupid.

It might well have been fine when they inspected it, then a fuel hose popped off while he ragged it for 300 miles
