I never liked these when they first came out but they are growing on me now.

I really want an R version in white.

Having owned and/or extensivley driven both diff and non diff cars, i can tell you there really the difference is not even noticeable. Tyres made a bigger difference than the 'diff'. My best mate had an 08 r26, and i had a 225 f1 (so had the seats but no diff) and we always use to swop and drive each others. There was nothing in it speed wise either which was tested 'frequently' shall we say I even had a 225 lux on loan for a few weeks off another friend and againt didnt feel too different, and there was nothing in it speed wise either. The only thing that was shit seats which made you sit high up.

DIFF MY ARSE

hence why its such an ambigious term that people should research before wanking over the "diff" in there car

chances are its probably a crappy electronic diff that isnt doing a great deal

The motoring press praised it as soon as it had a diff. Said it was pap before. I doubt the "speed" would be different but should certainly feel different.

I can't believe they aren't different.

Its not its a mechanical torque biasing diff similar to Quaife's ATB

Its similar but not made by Quaife. It also has almost identical front strut set up. (independent steering-axis v fords revoKnuckle)

Ive also driven 225 lux and cups and could tell the diffrence almost instantly under full throttle and puting power down comeing out of bends!

Mechanical diff.

Only manufacturer that make out their cars have diffs but are just electronic are VW

Vauxhall put mechanical in the Corsa Nurburgring and new VXR has one.

Sorry I should rephrase. It does feel sharper upon first turning in; it feels alot quicker/sharper but out and out grip or 'handling' it really doesnt feel different. As said, tyres made more of a difference (we all tried different ones but all tried the same brand at one point).

I did 12,000 miles in mine, and coverd several thousand miles in friends cars, took them to pod, massive 'hoons' pushing the cars to the limit around derbyshire peaks, took them all to 140+ and all over the country so I would like to think I have a valid opinion.

Its one of them things that gets over-hyped. I will have to try and get the r26 owner (well ex as of the last few days) to join the forum and give his opinion. He did 20k in his last year so got to know what the car can do, and he will happily back up what I have said.

Id say turn in was the same and its exit speeds from corners that are higher. You can get back on the power much earlier on ones with a diff.

Right some info from you megane experts because I can't be bothered trawling through the forums (yet, i'll get there).

What's the differences between the normal ones and F1 team etc?

Is a standard 225 missing the diff?

Ta. It'd be the R26 F1 for me. Don't understand the R26R premium to be honest. Can do the equivalent mods to the F1 and have a better spec in regards to engine/exhaust mods, cage & seats

It's the exhaust on the 26.r 3k worth!!! :/

Would cost couple of k to get to r26r spec anyway minus titanium exhaust.
