Interior and rear end look great, but still can't bring myself to like that new nose yet!

For me you either like something or you don't. I don't get the whole "starting to like" something, its just because your used to seeing it that you accept it as nice.

It a horrible shape of car, not just the design of the features i don't like, but the lump of clay they started with was the wrong shape for me.

I hated the Focus when it replaced the Escort because it was so modern, but then I grew to love it.

Now it looks dated.

I tend to disagree with the whole you like or you don't. Good design is something that will stand the time - I tend to find cars that I instantly like become either dated very quickly or after a few years do not have the same appeal

I like some bits of that car though, im just not a fan of 5 door hatchbacks in general so im never going to like it

coupe is traditionally 4 seats with saloon boot rather than hatch back

Coupe also are regarded as a better handling car than the hatchback as they are more rigid and are far more expensive than the hatchback - about 2k across the range

That's fair enough if there is a big price difference (although £2k on something that much isnt too bad imo) and i suppose people have different uses for the car and need four doors, but for me i would never touch one of these if i could get a coupe instead, even meaning a year older model.

The interior looks alot nicer than previous bmws though

that looks absolutely hideous

is this an ///M or an Msport? can guarantee 85% of people who buy these stick ///M badges on the front and rear and get new plates made up with ///M bits on the side.

///M is the MSport badge hence why the alloys, door sills, steering wheel etc have the ///M

M with a number after it denotes is an Mcar

Yeah what is with the ///M plate on the door sill?

My biggest hate is idiots that stick an ///M badge on the back of their single tail pipe model designation delete 3 series.

Seth yours would have had the ///M on the door sill but I guess at the colour scheme you have its states individual instead

fair enough, just that the ///M on the door sill is a little too 'shouty' for me on something like this.

I think they should be more exclusive with estoril blue as well, seems like that colour is now going to be chucked at every model.

My point, the gap between M cars and normal models with M Sport bits is getting to close in terms of styling and performance IMHO.

i completely agree but its seems all manufacturers do this now - It would appear its replaced the Le- mans blue which was only available on Msport cars

Audi is even worse. an S5 went past me yesterday and apart from the exhaust it looked like an Sline with the black edition kit on it

Agree with Estoril blue - should be an individual colour that can be spec'ed but at a large cost

Yeah, i think you are right. Audi started it IMHO as well.

I think about 2005 ish you would see an audi fly up in your rear view mirror. A quick glance would reveal a sport type bumper, mesh, grille etc giving you the false impersonation that it was something tasty. As it went past you would be greeted with 2.0 TDI on the back

A long time has passed since only hot hatches had front fogs and if you car had a 16v badge it was fast

true - the new c class mercs with the LED and xexons specc'ed look identical to an C63 AMG when they are behind you

Its only very small details now that tell them apart to the untrained eye

Evo did a good article about Q cars a few editions back which highlighted this sort of stuff
